Market Rasen
Wednesday 27th February 2008 @ 00:56 hours Greenwich Mean time (GMT) the north of england experienced the largest earthquake in over 24 years. Reaching 5.2 ML on the Richter magnitude scale. The epicentre was just north of the town of Market Rasen, in Lincolnshire. There have been 3 aftershocks one at a magnitude of 2.2 ML.
The last earthquake in the UK of similar magnitude was 1984.
